The Super Side Note feat. Stacy Stitched
Featuring one of the most organized, thoughtful and lovely stitchers I know.
“….these are a few of her favorite things .”
One of my most favorite parts of this publication is The Super Side Note. I adore this little needlepoint-adjacent-and-lifestyle slice of creativity…..because everyone who needlepoints also leads a life outside of this hobby.
I love sharing little snips of things that catch my eye in the ebb and flow of everyday life. Things that spark joy for me, and in sharing them, I hope they do the same for you. A #finishingtouch if you will.
I am always trying to think of new-ish ways to create content that connects people. Content that makes others feel seen. Content that’s authentic, meaningful, helpful and (fingers crossed) leaves you walking away feeling as though the time you spent reading it was time well spent.
This week’s Super Side Note is guest-edited by Stacy of Stacy Stitched (you can find her on Instagram here). Stacy and I connected over Instagram when she executed a fabulous #FabricB4Fiber moment with a sweet canvas to commemorate her honeymoon (read all about it here). We would frequently exchange DMs and quickly became friends.

Stacy inspires me in more ways than just stitching. She is a loyal friend, a wonderful mother and an incredibly talented stitcher (which she does not give herself nearly enough credit for). Stacy is easily the most organized person I know, is forever thinking of others and always seems to know *just* the thing to say.
I hope you enjoy this small glimpse into her world and all the beauty she brings to the rest of ours. May this post serve as a reminder to lean into those special connections with other stitchers, even if it is just over DM……you just never know how they might change your life.
An extra warm welcome to anyone new here—I'm so glad you’ve joined! While this is mostly a needlepoint blog, the #SuperSideNote is where I share everything beyond the stitches (you can find the origin story linked here). Your time is valuable, and my goal is to make every moment you spend here feel like time well spent.
“It’s Formula 1 Season! I have watched this sport for over a decade. My husband always makes a yummy breakfast on race Sundays and our family gathers to watch the race together. It’s a highlight of my week. I’m a Lewis Hamilton fan through and through, and I also root for Carlos Sainz and Lando Norris.”
“Cookbooks lately! Springtime always makes me want to refresh our meal rotation. I have been tagging recipes in and You Got This! by Diane Morrisey. Recipes from Serena Wolf are a constant hit in my household as well!”
“My Tilli Tomas tote! I am obsessed with the quality and being able to show off my beloved hobby. Just a note: the opening is for a 5 inch round. (bag sold out; canvas from Kate Woodward available here).
I also live in these ballet flats. From work days to PTA meetings or Girl Scout events and errands around town they never let me down. They are so comfortable and I feel pulled together in them.”
“A new guilty pleasure has been Reese’s dipped animal crackers. Thank me later. (A personal favorite of this author). My family loves a quinoa bake. This recipe is delicious and features yummy spring flavors.”
“I have finished a couple of mini canvases recently. I am completely charmed by Meg Francez’s designs and the tomato seemed like a great place to start- I could live off garden tomatoes in the summer.”
“To go along with my family's love for F1, I just purchased Stitching with Stacey's "Lights Out and Away We Go” canvas. I have plans to turn it into a tray insert.
“Safira Stitches’ Summer Friday canvas was an absolute must-have for me. I have tubes of this balm in no fewer than six places in my life (my office desk stash sadly missed the group photo).”

“This Hop canvas from Goodpoint is my most recent finish. I first became acquainted with Emily on Instagram through the #fabricb4fiber hashtag. I really love this approach to planning and kitting projects. I am a lover of Sister Parish fabrics, and I was delighted to find a Neon Rays shade to match this backing pattern!”
*Super Side Note: a sample swatch of fabric from Sister Parish’s website was the perfect size for finishing this Hop canvas
“I have two important tasks this week: first is waiting for my Simplified launch order! I have my daughter’s Easter basket all set and now it’s time for a treat for myself. I am SO thrilled that the book-bound weekly planner is back! #myprecious”
“The task I will savor spending time on is diving into my Finishing School Diary. I am so excited to have a place to document the thoughts and intention behind my projects. I also love the Correspondence Cards! I am looking forward to drafting sweet messages to give the recipients of stitch gifts.
I love that this gives me a place to record the stories behind my stitches for my daughter to have one day. Amelia, or “Little Boss” as she is affectionately known, has a great interest in my hobby. She even stitches a tiny bit herself!
“Amelia loves to help me select projects and threads. She encourages me along the way, and offers the sweetest reviews of my work. She has a real eye for colors and fabric as well! A child’s fresh take and imagination can be just the thing to make a project invigorating.”
Thank you Stacy for all the beauty, wisdom and grace you bring to our community. We are so grateful for you!
